Carnivals hate me. I'm convinced that they must. For the past two Saturdays, I attempted to get photos of classic cars at the carousel in Riverside, but for the past two Saturdays there was a carnival parked where the cars would normally be. Today I decided that, with the carnival closed during the morning hours, it would be a safe time to get a photo of the rides surrounding the carousel without having to worry about someone with clinical paranoia thinking their kid's going to be photographed. I arrived at the carousel only to find that sometime yesterday, the carnival packed up and left. Carnivals hate me. On my way back to work, I spotted a lot of activity on the bike path and stopped for a quick "safety shot" photo and that's what you see here. No carnival, just a single cyclist in a racing configuration speeding down the bike path.
Post processing started with a neutral greyscale filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
I meant to get in a ride today but I got stuck at work. bugger
