Hummingbird

Two years ago, I planted two butterfly bushes in my backyard, hoping to attract hummingbirds. Finally, in the third summer, a single hummingbird has discovered the bushes and has been a frequent visitor this week. His appearance is a bit confusing, though. The only hummingbirds that migrate to this area are ruby-throated hummingbirds, and this tiny bird does not match any of the photos in the guidebooks. It's possible that it's a juvenile that's transitioning towards its first winter, which would explain the stripes on the throat, but none of the other markings match. I'll have to continue researching.
Post processing started with a neutral filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
