This summer, the Parks Department built a new parking area in Lincoln Woods State Park. They've named it "Sunset Trails Parking Area" which is somewhat ironic since the park closes at sunset. In any case, I decided to explore the area around the new parking lot, and I'm glad I did. The geology of the park has always fascinated me, and this section is built on the side of a glacial moraine the terminates at the edge of the kettle pond in the center of the park. Glacial erratics abound, and you see one of them in today's photo. I loved this scene with freshly fallen leaves coating the glacial erratic and the kettle pond in the background. Another erratic can be seen in the water, complete with a bright reflection in the calm waters. It's Lincoln Woods at its finest.

Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
