Greystone Dam

Greystone Dam
01 December 2014 -- 335/365
North Providence, Rhode Island

While driving through Greystone - a small village in North Providence - I noticed a strong flow of water spilling over the dam on the Woonasquatucket River. I've wanted a photo of this dam for a while, but with the lengthy drought this summer, there was never more than a trickle here. Needless to say, I took the opportunity to stop for a photo today. There was too much wind to do an HDR set, which is what I'd have preferred, but there was still just the right amount of contrast with the water and the pond to make it worthwhile.

Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
