My mom and I drove through Iowa last night to attend my 103-year-old great aunt's funeral. I'm sure you fellow photographers can imagine the agony of driving 75 mph on an interstate, watching the longest storm cloud ever stretch along endless miles of rolling hills dotted with beautiful farms and stunning cornfields and not be able to stop to take pictures. This is one of the very few shots I got, so I consider myself lucky to have even this image. Hope you enjoy it.
This photo is fabulous. It somehow takes on an added dimension having been part of the journey you described, perhaps a fitting send-off for your great aunt. A fave for me.
That is magnificent! I can't tell you how many times I have tried to capture things in Iowa without success. My son lived in Iowa City for 2 years. My best friend lived in Iowa a long time ago and my parents actually met and married there!
I have no knowledge of Iowa, but this photo ignited my curiosity and fondness to this place. If I were you, I would enlarge it and hand in up high on my wall. One of the best I have seen today. Fav!
I so feel for you! I have had that happen, too. Being surrounded by wonderful photo ops and not being able to take them is agony. You got a beauty here though! I absolutely love it! The tones are gorgeous as is your composition. FAV (Wish I could hit that button more than once!)
Simply stunning! The colours are just amazing and a fantastic composition! It has a really special feel to this image, wish I could put into words, but sometimes a photo is able to take your breath away!
Sorry to here about you aunt.
So sorry for your loss, Kareen.
