Agave flower spike

I've watched this flower spike progress to this stage for at least 6 months now. It is actually quite tall and hooks over, this is just the one spike although it looks like two.

I wonder if I can pluck those little agave's off and plant them for new plants? I only ever split them from pups at the base of the plant in the soil.

If it's an octopus agave, yes, those are new little plants that can be plucked off and planted.
