Variegated dogwood

Today (Sunday, May 31) I went with my parents to the Morton Arboretum. It's beautiful there- today was unusually cool for late May but we still had a really nice afternoon. This is a variegated dogwood outside the visitors' center - I don't know a lot about dogwoods and I had never seen a variegated one. I thought of the 365 Project and @pyrrhula when I saw it!

nice capture. i believe the variegated refers to the two-toned leaves? i could be wrong but that is what it means on my hostas.

This is one happy plant — it's huge! My first thought when seeing the flowers was that they were some sort of poinsettia. (the pointed petals influenced that thought). Beautiful dogwood blooms.

Looks like a beautiful place for photography -- this is quite a huge dogwood and the variegated sections are unusual.
