Purple flowers

I don’t know what this is, but I really like the color. One of my parents’ neighbors planted it last summer. It doesn’t seem to have a scent, but the bright purple flowers always make me smile.

Yes it might be a clematis - they have either soft pastel colours or intense and vibrant!
