Family Lace

Tell me again
What you remember
So we can all laugh
Over what we all know

What was that story
of the last time that happened?
Tell me again.
How did it go?

Remember that time?
And the way that we laughed so!
Tell it again!
I love it so much

Cause the memories we have
Are like fine lace, so special.
Kept for the ages
And so fine to the touch
**Gorgeous Photo* of that beautiful frost! **Exquisite poetry*...so beautifully and thoughtfully presented. I'm so glad we crossed paths... Your site is something not to be missed!

The tales that make up our memories become the backbone of days lived. Amidst the perspectives lies the truth.
Thrilled you had the time to share! Fantastic pic!

Interesting how it does indeed seem like lace. This week my sister and I are sorting through my parents' things to prepare their house for sale. They have many old and lacy things. I read your poem to my sister, and we both strongly identified with it.

@cejaanderson Thank you for sharing that, Jane! It made my day. Best wishes to you and your sister as you go through that moving process

Kevin, you've done it again! :) I so remember, when I was young, being the one asking others to tell me the stories so I could learn and internalize my personal history from those who knew it best. Now, I'm the one who is asked to tell the stories so others can learn where we came from and internalize our personal histories. I like how you've captured that notion in your simple words and phenomenal shot. You rock! FAV

Yup, you hit the family storytelling on the head! And like the frost in your picture it gets more fanciful and intricate as it crisscrosses! I like how it almost looks like a tunnel in the middle of your shot....pulling one in,

Kevin how wonderful, the image is fantastic, and the poem just simply hits the right places.. It brings back feelings of family gatherings, and the old stories that get re-told every time.
