@jools it had nothing to do with the bird, there was hundreds of them and certainly not camera shy. It had everything to do with being in a rocking boat and not being a terribly good photographer.

@kjarn - your photos are great! The rocking boat would've been the main issue, I reckon. Plus all those other birds wanting to get into the photo!
