Oh you made me wistful! Loved The Rocks. Cooking your own steak at Philip's Foote, breakfast at the Dutch Pancake House and just wandering around by the water and under the bridge. Happy memory smiles here today :) INteresting sculpture. Is it a plane?
@casablanca the whole exhibition was sculptures by Japanese artists. This one was called A Guidepost for the Wind, made of stainless steel and ball bearings. “The artist asks us to join him in sensing the wind running through his kinetic sculpture”
I love The Rocks too, have spent many many days wandering around the area. Philips Foote is still there and did you mean Pancakes on the Rocks?
@kjarn Up the wooden staircase and full of delicious Dutch pancakes! Glad to hear Philip's Foote is still there, that business model made me smile. Make customers cook their own food and bring their own drinks and charge them to cook it in your cafe! Brilliant. Ate there with my lovely cousin (who is a chef!) and loved it.
What an interesting sculpture exhibition. So at least I was on the right track thinking of planes when he wanted me to think of wind flow!
@casablanca you’ve got me stumped about the Dutch pancakes, Pancakes on the Rocks has a wooden staircase but the pancakes aren’t Dutch. 🤷♀️ Philips Foote certainly is a unique experience
Like Casablanca I thought this was about airplanes, but looking at it after reading what it's supposed to be about, it does look like a wind vane without the N. E. S. and W. letters. Good shot- great cityscape in the background.
That sculpture is blocking a very nice view of the bridge and that very interesting looking building. I’m not a fan of the sculpture, but I do like the background.
