Bulleting in for a challenge

OK bw is NOT my comfort zone, so let's see what I can learn this month. This week is texture, and the red gum bark certainly has that! Feel free to give me photographic tips as I do flash of red for the first time. Thank you for the awesome comments on my photos I'm overwhelmed when I'm not rolling about laughing with you.
This is such a sweet shot.

I think this suits b&w well. I don't know what editing programme you use (I use Elements) but I also use the Nik free download filters as well. The Silver Efex and Viveza are so useful for b&w shots.

He looks very soft! Are they soft?

superb in black and white tones

@kklinck ridiculously soft and so luxuriously thick too! This is one reason they are now in such a terrible danger of extinction - they were killed by the millions until 1930 for their superb pelts :(

I love the softness of this image - a great start to b&w
I love that big paw pad too

@koalagardens Oh no!! I had no idea they were near extinct!! I'm so sorry!
February 5th, 2019
@kklinck it's our greatest shame :( so I am incredibly lucky to live among them regenerating some habitat, and work voluntarily in rescue and rehab. what you see here is quite rare!
