Incredible amount of koala movement happening still, and I found this big fella chilling just inside my western boundary. Just passing through I believe...
Thank you for the awesome comments and questions on my photos.
Oh, oh. Will this be a problem if he and Jordan run into one another?

@gardencat sure could be - this fella looks like he's been around a while too! Over the past month there have been so many new males passing through. In the whole region everyone seeing a lot of koalas on the move, so it's not something local here disturbing them.

How do you get so close to get such good photos?
September 3rd, 2019
Let's hope he's on the move then. Can there only be one male in your area.

Relax !

@bruni there can only be one alpha in a colony. There are lots of males in a colony, from juveniles to low ranking adults, and they do have altercations to sort and keep the order :)

@mave with this camera I do need to get within 10 metres or so of the tree as it has great features but not the reach of my older camera. In this photo I am reasonably close and had to creep from the bike through some brush. With many photos I am not as close as I seem :)

You must be very dedicated to do this.

Am fascinated by his ‘arrangement’ of both feet and right arm...and must mention the detail of his rippled coat in 3 different colours! Just splendid ;-)

Great claws!

I’m with Margo. You would think that in these precarious positions they would want both arms free or holding on.

He certainly looks a heavyweight ! comfortably sitting up there and casing the join !! You never know - he may stay a while !!

Great shot. Like the sunlight on her/his fur.

@s4sayer @shutterbug49 I was trying so hard not to crack up laughing at that hands and feet arrangement, and not disturb him so I could get the photos! he was certainly feeling very relaxed - but notice he is holding on with one hand, and he was quite nicely wedged with that branch behind his back. glad you enjoyed the detail :)

Love to see how they find a comfortable spot to get wedged in I wonder if they all have their own preference of branch formation.
