I've managed to catch her papping a bit this week, so in the next week or two at most we will see her joey out in her lap. Such a lovely long season this year with Grace already separated from mum and this tiny one only just emerging.
This is such an exciting year for Koala Gardens! I'm glad you have so much joy to help balance some of the sadness. Looking forward to seeing Olivia's little one making his/her debut!
@olivetreeann thanks Ann, it has been a very hard time and the joy of these 5 mums with joeys has allowed me to breath again and feel the joy of nature again
It does seem like a bumper crop of new joeys this year. So happy to see more of them and I'd like to think that this is a sign that they might be starting to recover from their declining numbers. Still a problem with habitat to be figured out I guess but you have to celebrate the good moments along the way even if the final goal hasn't been reached yet..
@gardencat yes, it doesn't mean we have fixed the problem for the entire population, but it shows that they can bounce back if do fix the cause of decline
What joy this must bring, watching new life come to Koala Gardens. You are working so hard to give them the best of everything and need to be rewarded too.
