I often see these little fellas as they are vivid, but the move like crazy and usually keep to shelter so I felt very luck to snap this one. He really stands out on black if you have the time. I hope to get far better shots as I keep trying each day.

@peterlgrave good idea! it's tricky on acreage as I come riding along on the quad bike, and the birds take off. Today I made the time to just sit still on the bike for a while and this one did come darting back after a bit. It's a big patience tester! I've got a lot of finches too, but haven't yet managed to get even a poor capture of one!
