no tadpoles were harmed in the making of this image ...
Word for the day - water sports. Probably one of the harder challenges I've had! I'm submitting this because it's certainly a water sport all day every day for the tadpoles to evade the many birds that drink and bathe in the bird bath in which they live. You can clearly see one just come up to breathe and if you squint you can see 2 more below the murk.
I can't believe they are still growing on even though we are now in winter. I nearly have tadpoles in here year round now. These are green tree frog natives.
Whew that was a hard one as the weather has been cold and raining here.
Thank you for the awesome comments and questions on my photos.
I thought they were brown honeyeaters but wasn't quite sure. Thanks for giving the name in the tags! Your taddy looks pretty well developed - do you think he'll actually change with winter coming on or just sit it out in the pond? :)
@robz well done checking the tags - so the taddies weren't really at risk from the honeyeaters, but lots of meat eating birds do bathe there. I have been wondering the same thing - will they just sit the winter out as there are much smaller ones in there as well. I will be interested to watch and see what they do :)
