This antherium was a valentine gift from my late husband in 2011. In 10 years it has never been without masses of flowers and you can see they are quite large (and that is smaller flower!).
After we had been dating some time we bought each other matching "non-wedding' rings. It was always a bit of a laugh as we wore them on our wedding fingers.
When we married of course we then added matching 'wedding' rings and you can just see that mine is engraved with Chris's name and his engraved with mine.
I don't think I could have composed this photo until this year - too hard to get them out and examine and work with them.
This Easter will mark 7 years since his tragic passing.
So both the red flower, and the rings are treasures beyond measure for me.
Oh what a poignant and beautiful tribute. Thanks for sharing. Time doesn't heal does it, but we do have to reach acceptance. My daughter died 8 years ago this month and I still have bad days and good days. I expect you will be the same for the rest of your life, but we have to be thankful for the good times we had. Take care.
@onewing indeed - acceptance is my huge focus as I run support groups online for carers and widows. we never 'get over it', but we do learn to live with the scars, and it is amazing how much joy and beauty we then find in the world and in life.
I am so truly sorry for your loss, this is a hard month for you. 💜 April is always a time of much reflection and revisiting and dealing with grief for me.

Ooh , Katrina , so poignant yet beautiful . The plant a living proof of his love and the rings a symbol of your love and promises to one another . Fav xx
A beautifully composed selective color image. I'm so glad you have this lovely flowering plant to know your love is still with you. A truly heart felt memorial, thank you for sharing it with us.
There is such a mixture of emotions here- life can be bittersweet. But you have really composed a beautiful shot encapsulating it all. The flower is a testimony that love lives on.
