A swim club mom hired me to take family photos and follow her daughter around during the group grad photo session today downtown. She belonged to the school's soccer team so all her teammates gathered for this shot. "My girl" is second from the end in the bright dress. She even wore her matching cleats!! I know the end of this is a bit odd but there was a large collection of people gathered that messed up an otherwise fun shot. The weather was strange and the sky was white behind their heads. Joining the sky to the path looks a bit fake but it's the best I could do.
oh it's fine! creates some cool negative space. so glad you got an opportunity for a photo session! what a fun event too. i love your daughter's dress. so colorful and fun!
A wonderful looking group and I think the composition looks terrific. The cleats brings it down to earth and shows the fun in the girl's personalities.
Looks like a beauty pageant...(though they might not like that?) Such a great capture of these lovely ladies with beautiful dresses (and shoes?)

@bardejov I use Aperture to process my photos and there's a button I can push that tells exactly where I focused (rather amazing I think) and I had the top back tip of the cleats, closest to the girls, in focus. Just a fluke that F8 worked.
Love their shy smiles! It's prom season here too... I sat up all night adjusting a frock for my friend's daughter who hasn't even come back to try it on yet (prom is Thursday)... I can see her hoiking up the hem like this (she'll need to if she wears trainers!)
