Another roadside verge. This time I used a telephoto and smallest aperture to isolate the flowers. I processed this shot with the Olympus 'dramatic tone' filter, which I like but probably over-use. So compare, contrast and comment if you wish - 'dramatic tone' on the right, normal processing with a slight contrast boost on the left.
I like the crispness of the poppy in the second one but find the background a bit too prominent - the processing had made the bokeh too dominant for me. Perhaps Hazel @quietpurplehaze has it right?
I agree with Hazel and Mr. Sayer. Would also like to add that the poppy in gaining detail lost some if its wonderful vibrant color. But either way it's a nice image!
