Vinça reservoir

Formed by damming the river Têt, this is one of the main reservoirs serving Perpignan and the Roussillon plain. It can hold 25 million cubic metres of water, but after a long hot summer it is quite low. I think in Spring the place where I was taking the photo from would be about 5 metres below the surface. According to an information panel, it is currently supplying 6 cubic metres per second, and if you can't visualise that, then think of a 20 tonne road tanker being filled in 3 seconds.
Long hot summer, low water levels , we have more water than we need, a little sun would be great....

@jack4john We need to build a pipeline. You pump water in summer and we pump back wine in winter.

I've seen this with only just a few puddles in the bottom, but that was 20 odd years ago.
