Cold today, 3°C overnight and 6°C this morning, with a Tramontane wind, which is worse. I've never been to this Saturday morning market before, thought it might be a good place to go today. My idea was to take photos of people wearing scarves. Wearing a scarf is something many French people do with real style. If there was a World Cup for scarf-wearing, the French team would meet the Italian team in the final most times, and would win quite a few. On the drive there I saw a few examples - a teenager with a scarf the size of a tent groundsheet fluttering in the wind behind her, another with an orange scarf wrapped around her head so many times, leaving only a gap for her eyes, that she looked like a lollipop or, only UK people of a certain age will get this, a Belisha beacon. Unfortunately, I didn't spot any brilliant examples at the market, so I'm just posting this, of people looking cold.
Great street photography. If you think that's cold, try the UK (although we cannot match North America/Canada), freezing fog forecast for tomorrow. The bed might win the fight against going out to take pictures.
Great documentary photograph of market life and movement. The one year I lived in Paris in 1985-86, the scarf ruled, and to date, the French absolutely have the best scarves and ways of wearing them! I wish I could make it look so easy!
