The shirt factory project by leggzy

The shirt factory project

In 2013 Londonderry was named the UK's city of culture...as part of the city's celebrations, there were many art exhibitions throughout the year. Artist Rita Duffy's exhibition was a project featuring the shirt factory legacy in Londonderry.

It was a very effective exhibition....all those shirts just hanging above the street - very quirky!

Today's photo is part of my "Wind-Back Wednesday" feature and was taken in 2013 during my trip to Ireland. TFL :)
Love it :)

It was really quite striking to walk around the corner & see all those shirts hanging there...I had to google it at the time to find out what it was about :)

I was about to comment 'There's a Londonderry in Australia?", then I finished reading your post. What a fabulous capture on that blue sky day, too! Super!

@ajisaac Thank you....and yes, not too far at all. I will be back there in 2 months or so, so I will give you a wave :) lol

@leggzy Is there really? Never knew. My hubby comes from NI - Portadown - not so far from Londonderry, or Derry as it is often known locally.
February 20th, 2016
@jamibann my dad comes from NI too, down near Bangor. We loved our visit to Derry....Londonderry here is just a small town & as far as I know, it isn't shortened to Derry.

@leggzy Hence your visit there, I imagine! It's a lovely part of the world.
