Nendrum Monastic Site by leggzy

Nendrum Monastic Site

This 5th century monastic site is in County Down, on the shores of Strangford Lough - the county we spent most of our time, being where my Dad comes from. It is set in such a beautiful setting, and was such an interesting place....hard to believe that all those centuries ago, people lived here! I absolutely love visiting places like this....and although it has nothing on my most favourite monastic site in Ireland at Glendalough, I still enjoyed our time here & loved the feel of the place.
So much history. It must of been very moving, knowing that your past evolved from this area. A lovely spiritual phot.
