Famine statues by leggzy

Famine statues

As part of the Famine Memorial on the banks of the River Liffey in Dublin. These statues were really quite harrowing & brought the tragedy of the Irish famine into perspective.

Another of my fav older shots as part of my "Wind-Back Wednesday" theme.

Many thanks for dropping by to view my project :)

This takes me back a few years to when I saw them for the first time. They made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. Just to stand on the docks where they had left their native country in desperation, many never to live until the end of the journey ...

This is a very cool capture; haunting in it's own way, and the dog is a nice extra
