Hay Bales by leggzy

Hay Bales

I'm seeing lots of these a-round (haha!) at the moment. I had to stop to get a shot of this particular paddock with the old tree, that seems to be dead on one side, but alive & well on the other. I also liked the green spindly grass in the foreground & the storm clouds starting to form (we did end up getting a bit of rain from them too) - ahhh I love my country :)
What an ideal countryside shot.

If you fancy being a rain expert, you should live in England, we have plenty all year round.

I keep hearing the music in my head from The Big Country. Different continent, but the wide open spaces in your photograph have that kind of impact.

Great scene. I saw fields with bales when I was in SA recently but couldn't stop.

Great composition and layers of colour in this shot.

Lovely rural scene. I love how the tree is half dead and half alive. Must have been hit by lightning.

The contrast between sky and land is strong Leggzy. Could you have got a bit closer so that the bales were a bit more prominent? I guess it depends on what was between you and them.

Great composition, rule of thirds triumphs again. And I really like the pastel colours too.

I faved this instantly, what a great shot. I just love the layers of colours and all the textures.

I love the whole shot- so expansive and along with the subtly bright colors in spite of the coming clouds. Beautiful- and a fav. Had to laugh at your little pun. I once had my sister-in-law convinced the these round bales wrapped in white plastic were actually marshmallows that had been harvested and were awaiting processing to make them smaller. My did we laugh about that for days to come!

@chillen no, I couldn't get any closer, unfortunately. I was standing at the boundary fence, but would have loved to have been able to get closer
