Turnstone

Blustery with the wind gusting above 30 mph all day - warm in the shelter but quite cold out in the open.

These turnstone didn't seem to mind the weather and were feeding in amongst the pools and seaweed at Sannick. Difficult to believe given the numbers of Turnstone we see here in Shetland that there has never been a record of the bird breeding in the UK.
I’ve seen many of these birds in the Faroe Islands. There they are called Tjaldursgrælingur.
