A Halloween Throwback Thursday

Door to door trick or treating is a thing of the past in my area. Now little ones go to malls or church parties. I'm sure they have fun, but I think it's a little sad. I remember what fun it was to walk through my neighborhood at night, seeing decorations and bowls of treats. My friend sent me these vintage candy bags, so I wanted to include them in my Halloween post for today. Many thanks for getting my 13 days on the Pop Page and happy Thursday!
Love the texture and vintageness of this fine shot!

Oh that is so sad. I was never allowed to do much trick or treating but it was so much fun.

The vintage treat bags are really cool! I love how you captured them.

Wonderfully presented image. Trick or treating is still alive and well in our area, with some houses even offering the adults a "restorative" for the chilly night.

Cute and creative Halloween shot. The malls have trick or treating here, too, but we also still have kids come around in the neighborhoods.

Growing up in Australia, Halloween was never really a big 'thing', other than the occasional excuse for a dress up party, but it does seem that as each year passes more and more children seem to be infected with this phenomena. I still can't get my head around, that as parents we teach our kids not to take sweets from strangers and yet more and more children are knocking on my door at halloween looking for treats.
I'm in 2 minds, whilst I appreciate that in some countries it is a time honoured tradition and a lot of fun, I find it a little sad that in Australia the kids are starting to mimic a tradition that they know nothing about.
But I do love a good dressup party, so would never knock back an invitation to a party.
And I also love looking at all of the wonderful photos on 365 about Halloween. Who know's maybe I'm the one who's been missing out on he fun all of this time.

@deborah63 One of the things I enjoy most about this community is learning about the traditions and history of different places. Thanks for stopping by and sharing!

We don't get any trick-or-treaters either and I feel left out now on Halloween. Very cool treat bags.
