Latest photo from the SPCA where I work on Thursdays. There are actually six of these kittens! These are the ones that were put in a sack and thrown over a hedge out of town!
@happypat Actually they are quite agressive, Pat - I got scratches and holes in my skin today and one climbed up and chomped on my finger and ripped the glove I had on!
I can't believe people still do that to kittens in this day and age. So bad. I'm glad someone rescued them and took them to the SPCA. I hope they are re-homed happily. Cute photo too.
@maggiemae No taking home then!! Looks like they haven't been handled at all then, not a good prognosis for a loving pet! When we used to be looking for a kitten to buy usually off a farm & the kittens lived in the barn the non handled ones made very independent cats, not as loving as those handled lots while small.
@happypat I think the big problem was they didn't have enough time with their mum which is so important - they were only 2 weeks old when they came here!
Adorable capture! Such a sad story. We got my 12 year old dog from an animal shelter when he was 2 years old. We can tell that he suffered abuse at one time, but he is a really sweet dog.
My first thought when I saw your photo is they have markings very similar to the feral cats we have around where I work. @daisy Same! We got our dogs from a shelter, they are the best natured dogs you could ever come across, despite the kickings and beatings they got when they were puppies!
They look like little carbon copies of one another. Very cute, but I see they are not too cuddly. I think you're right about them not being nurtured by their mother for long enough.
@espyetta They are cute when they have been fed and have run out of energy! Other times they are climbing up the wire on the cage right to the top and all together!
Cute collection, is it unusual that they are almost all identical ?? I was of the belief that in a litter this size there would be more variation. Don't know squat about cats 8-(
Wonderful capture and I love the way they are all looking right at you. I can't believe well actually I can that people do this type of thing to animals. I am so happy they were rescued. I hope they find forever homes soon.
Ohhhh my goodness I wish I could keep all of them!!! I don't now what is wrong with the world that someone would do such a thing to animals!?!?!? They are so very cute !! Give them lots of pets and hugs from me!! :)
Oh, Maggie I just love their sweet faces with those eyes just longing to be loved. It is beyond my comprehension how someone could put them in a sack and just toss them away. I am so relieved they were found and being cared for. A beautiful photo that deserves a fav! Keep us updated on their progress and hopefully they will all find good homes.
@mijade You have to realise that a huge lot of people never see past the own small worlds! One of the most important things to teach children is respec! Love to know you are on my side!
@judithg Maybe I didnt say exactly the right thing! I really meant to say that nothing is black and white but the thinking person can decide what is more important!
What cuties ,I would love to have them all,to go with my 2 cats and dog!! People who live around here move and just throw the cats out ,I have rescued a few over the years(till I fill my house ) hope they all get great homes soon!
@judithg Reading what I said to you Judith - its not to clear. I hope you didn't think I was being facetious! I really agreed that people can be so cruel!
LOL - temped to say nothing at this point and wait for your next update!!! I know what you mean - ignorance is a problem. And some people are just brought up not to have regard for animals. I remember our milkman calling in for payment when we were all devastated by the loss of our cat and he told us how he used to gas kittens in the oven. 'Sensitive' was his middle name! You do have to watch feral kittens as they can be very tricky (we had a white one that my mum never trusted) - hope they find an outdoorsy sort of home!
