Basket full of cuties

Latest photo from the SPCA where I work on Thursdays. There are actually six of these kittens! These are the ones that were put in a sack and thrown over a hedge out of town!
Beautiful capture.

Awwww .... they are so sweet!
February 27th, 2013
Is there such a thing as a BAD picture of a kitten? x 5?? So cute!
February 27th, 2013
Wonderful they are all looking at you

Vee
Awwww! I see the family resemblance in this litter!
February 27th, 2013
Adorable. What's cuter than a basket of kitties?!
February 27th, 2013
Aww they are lovely
February 27th, 2013
@havrotb True, Barbara - but the way they scramble around, you might just get a picture of their bottom!
February 27th, 2013
@annemary I made screeching sounds, Anne Mary! They all look a bit startled, don't they?
February 27th, 2013
adorable...
February 27th, 2013
Oh so sweet maggiemae....I bet you want to bring them all home with you!!!! I hope they find loving new homes soon.
February 27th, 2013
@happypat Actually they are quite agressive, Pat - I got scratches and holes in my skin today and one climbed up and chomped on my finger and ripped the glove I had on!
February 27th, 2013
I can't believe people still do that to kittens in this day and age. So bad. I'm glad someone rescued them and took them to the SPCA. I hope they are re-homed happily. Cute photo too.
February 27th, 2013
@maggiemae No taking home then!! Looks like they haven't been handled at all then, not a good prognosis for a loving pet! When we used to be looking for a kitten to buy usually off a farm & the kittens lived in the barn the non handled ones made very independent cats, not as loving as those handled lots while small.
February 27th, 2013
@happypat I think the big problem was they didn't have enough time with their mum which is so important - they were only 2 weeks old when they came here!
February 27th, 2013
They are so very cute.
February 27th, 2013
Adorable capture! Such a sad story. We got my 12 year old dog from an animal shelter when he was 2 years old. We can tell that he suffered abuse at one time, but he is a really sweet dog.
February 27th, 2013
Cute
February 28th, 2013
So cute. But what a sad history. I hope someone takes a risk and adopts them.
February 28th, 2013
My first thought when I saw your photo is they have markings very similar to the feral cats we have around where I work. @daisy Same! We got our dogs from a shelter, they are the best natured dogs you could ever come across, despite the kickings and beatings they got when they were puppies!
February 28th, 2013
Fav. I just love a basket of cuteness.
February 28th, 2013
So cute!
February 28th, 2013
how could anyone! all my cats have been strays or from the shelter.
February 28th, 2013
A bundle of cuteness!!!
February 28th, 2013
Awwww.....So cute Maggie! : )
February 28th, 2013
How tragic about the bag, but how great they are now in a good place to find a home. They couldn't be cuter!
February 28th, 2013
They look like little carbon copies of one another. Very cute, but I see they are not too cuddly. I think you're right about them not being nurtured by their mother for long enough.
February 28th, 2013
A basket full of trouble! Very cute photo.
February 28th, 2013
Look at all the little eyes! It's like someone ran the first one through the copy machine! Very cute- but they do sound like a handful.
February 28th, 2013
Furkins, so cute
February 28th, 2013
OH....poor babies. They are SO cute. I love the one on the left hand side that has his tongue a bit out.
February 28th, 2013
@espyetta They are cute when they have been fed and have run out of energy! Other times they are climbing up the wire on the cage right to the top and all together!
February 28th, 2013
what a great shot of some very lucky kitties .... hope they find a loving home..
February 28th, 2013
Cute collection, is it unusual that they are almost all identical ?? I was of the belief that in a litter this size there would be more variation. Don't know squat about cats 8-(
February 28th, 2013
Fav. They are adorable.
February 28th, 2013
@tonydebont Thats right, Tony - you get black and tabby and white etc. No these must have had very similar parents!
February 28th, 2013
Deb
A basket full of kittens! Glad they were rescued and hope they find a good home!
February 28th, 2013
Oh, they're so cute!!! My kids would gladly take one, but I'm quite allergic to kitties.
February 28th, 2013
You are doing wonderful work with these animals - these guys are adorable.
February 28th, 2013
Aww, aww, aww, aww and aww. Just had to do a head count to make sure I added enough Aww's.
February 28th, 2013
Wonderful capture and I love the way they are all looking right at you. I can't believe well actually I can that people do this type of thing to animals. I am so happy they were rescued. I hope they find forever homes soon.
February 28th, 2013
Oh how cute. I want them ALL!!!!!
February 28th, 2013

February 28th, 2013
Ohhhh my goodness I wish I could keep all of them!!! I don't now what is wrong with the world that someone would do such a thing to animals!?!?!? They are so very cute !! Give them lots of pets and hugs from me!! :)
February 28th, 2013
Fabulous shot Maggie, beautiful faces.
February 28th, 2013
They are all so cute! I can't imagine someone being able to put them in a sack and throw them away :(
February 28th, 2013
Oh so cute!! Simply melts my heart!
February 28th, 2013
Why do people 'throw' them away when charities will take them! Cute shot, they will be homed in no time
February 28th, 2013
@claireuk The SPCA here in NZ requests a 'surrender fee' which is about $20. These sort of people don't want to pay anything!
February 28th, 2013
Cute!
March 1st, 2013
there little faces. LOL
March 1st, 2013
So cute!
March 1st, 2013
Adorable!
March 2nd, 2013
Oh, Maggie I just love their sweet faces with those eyes just longing to be loved. It is beyond my comprehension how someone could put them in a sack and just toss them away. I am so relieved they were found and being cared for. A beautiful photo that deserves a fav! Keep us updated on their progress and hopefully they will all find good homes.
March 2nd, 2013
No! People are so cruel.
March 2nd, 2013
sad to hear people can be so cruel...they are so lovely !
March 3rd, 2013
Faved, these are so cute, I already love them... People are so mean...
March 3rd, 2013
@mijade You have to realise that a huge lot of people never see past the own small worlds! One of the most important things to teach children is respec! Love to know you are on my side!
March 3rd, 2013
@cocobell It is so nice to read her the supportive comments with animals, - thanks, Corinne!
March 3rd, 2013
@judithg Judith, you are a well educated lady! Perhaps that is what is needed to see what happens in life that is either good or bad? Hardly!
March 3rd, 2013
@judithg Maybe I didnt say exactly the right thing! I really meant to say that nothing is black and white but the thinking person can decide what is more important!
March 3rd, 2013
They are so cute. It's phantastic that someone takes care for them now
March 3rd, 2013
What cuties ,I would love to have them all,to go with my 2 cats and dog!! People who live around here move and just throw the cats out ,I have rescued a few over the years(till I fill my house ) hope they all get great homes soon!
March 6th, 2013
@brillomick You sound too kind, Mickey - I wish there was more like you!
March 6th, 2013
@judithg Reading what I said to you Judith - its not to clear. I hope you didn't think I was being facetious! I really agreed that people can be so cruel!
March 6th, 2013
LOL - temped to say nothing at this point and wait for your next update!!! I know what you mean - ignorance is a problem. And some people are just brought up not to have regard for animals. I remember our milkman calling in for payment when we were all devastated by the loss of our cat and he told us how he used to gas kittens in the oven. 'Sensitive' was his middle name! You do have to watch feral kittens as they can be very tricky (we had a white one that my mum never trusted) - hope they find an outdoorsy sort of home!
