Just before......

I snip this rose stem right off and put the aphids down the garbage disposal, I took their photograph along with a couple of those fairy things that roll across the garden. The aphids have eaten well and are busy trying to find their wings! No way!
Yuck on the aphids! Great detail though.

It must be done!

Nasty little things. Cool photo!
February 27th, 2013
Very cool looking, but they are a nuisance I just got rid of some on my hibiscus

Great capture before the massacre. haha.

Oh my, no mercy from you

What are the fairy things that roll across the garden -- so wispy and fanciful especially in contrast to the nasty little aphids. Why aren't the ants doing their job?
February 27th, 2013
@catwoman2 They are some sort of seed a bit like a dandelion seed but they stay in a circle. We don't have ants here, Mary! I have to spray normally for aphids but they have been quite rare this summer!

Nice shot

I love the whispy-ness of the dandelion fluff... so pretty! Bummer about the little buggers! Hopefully they arn't eating too many of your plants!
February 27th, 2013
What a cool shot, Maggiemae. I love the detail, kind of looks like fireworks. Yuk on the aphids but a good way to get rid of them.
February 27th, 2013
you are ahead of them, eh.
such an interesting pattern
February 27th, 2013
@kbalychev I chopped off the stems that were affected and shoved them down the garbage disposal! That'll teach them, Kimberly!
February 27th, 2013
@darsphotos I hope the little rotters don't survive the garbage disposal! They have been around for thousands of years!
February 27th, 2013
@glendq Sometimes you can get over the top of them by squashing them by hand along the stem - but if they have gone too far, its no use! Thanks Glenda- I am ahead of them!
February 27th, 2013
Wow, never saw them up close. Interesting shot!
February 27th, 2013
I think I would have sprayed those little things on the plant or gotten some lady bugs to do the dirty work for you.
February 27th, 2013
Nasty little aphids. Love the light in the shot, Maggiemae.

Cool shot, Maggie.
February 27th, 2013
@sailingmusic Lady bugs would do the trick, Myrna but there are too many of the aphids and too few lady bugs!
February 27th, 2013
Nasty bugs! Good you got rid of them!
February 27th, 2013
They're looking pretty big and juicy! I do like the sparkle on the fluff though xx
February 27th, 2013
Nasty little things, beautiful clarity and lighting in the shot .
February 27th, 2013
Aphids are so annoying. Do ladybugs help control them? Lovely fluffy shot minus the buggies!:)
February 27th, 2013
Well, it's a good photo but the subject matter is yucky!
February 27th, 2013
great shot of this annoying pest, love the fairie thingys too. there are great organic things now to get em!!! I like the Ladybug way ,and they can be ordered !!!
February 27th, 2013
Great shot, Maggie! Fantastic focus! Hate the subject matter ;(
February 27th, 2013
Wonderful world of nature Maggie, great shot and lighting.
February 27th, 2013
Beautiful focus. Aphids are certainly hard to get rid of.
February 28th, 2013

February 28th, 2013
