Steampunk costumes can be anything - odd, old, colourful, spunky, quirky, you name it! The Steampunk festival gets under way this weekend in Oamaru, NZ. Lots of smiles here appreciating my taking the photo!
Three good things:
1/- Roast Hogget
2/- my tooth is not hurting (yet) in spite of having 2 large bits fall out when eating a sticky biscuit!
3/- a new scarlet shirt to wear to the Oamaru on Fire event this evening when our Ukelele Group perform.
Steampunk can also mean the most exciting scrapbooking stuff! hehe. this photo is fabulous and I love that you chose to do it in black and white because you're able to focus on the styles, rather than the colour and distraction around. Great shot!
Love their costumes and sounds like a fun time. Hope your tooth remains pain free until you can get it looked at. What is Roast Hogget? You will look great it sounds when you play tonight. Hope it is a wonderful evening.

@c17ehse I'm not having a good run of good photos Mike - took plenty but they are not good enough - I need to practice more and try and remember what is good setting for the subject.

i've heard of 'steampunk' before but didn't quite get it. now that i've read about it, i can appreciate it. while i love the b/w treatment of this shot, i'm intrigued how this looks like in colour. :-) i like the shot though and the lighting methinks is perfect!
