The bike on the left is Burt Munro's Indian around the 1950s when he first started to streamline it. The bike on the right is the newly developed Indian just released in Australia. We were there as guests of the Launch.
Three good things:
1. This picture says it all: " A bird up on my bike is what I like"!
2. Photo of Burt's bike came from his album that we now own.
3. Its too wet to mow the lawn but its getting thicker and thicker!
This is a timeless shot for you both....how wonderful that they have re developed your bike....johns dad would have been so proud as you will be! Could I post this to my FB page so my sons in NZ can see , they were very interested when they heard that I knew you on 365 so will be very interested in this photo.?
@happypat Of course, Pat. Burt's bike was an Indian to start off with but had been modified by hand so many times before he got the record, it didn't resemble an Indian so much in the end. This new bike is one of several monsters that Indian aficionados just love! The engine is very special.
I remember my Uncle Will having an Indian. Boy did he love it. I think I got my first ever spanking from him because he told me not to spray him with the hose - and I did. That was a time when my grandmother, uncle, Mom and Dad and little me all lived in this house that Tom and I now fill. Thanks so very much for the memories.
@cdonohoue Oh, Cathy - I think you must have been like me - I was told to share the one little trike we had with my sister at the end of the path and I didn't. I triked all the way home! Got a spanking for that!
Great shots Maggiemae, thank you for taking part in the NewOld challenge.
I have edited it now.
