An Irish Moon by maggiemae

An Irish Moon

I get so excited when I see a potential moon shot that I forget to carefully select the right settings and of course I just got a bright circle of light. However the rest of the picture is part of Finniston Country Hotel in Lucan, Ireland. A grand place to stay with peacocks and 'drawing rooms" but it felt a bit like the place in "Waiting for God" as there was a large group of people on walkers and wheelchairs in one room! Little did I know that this night would be even more dramatic!

This is magic on black!

Three good things;
1. Flying from Lisbon to Dublin was easy - 2 games of scrabble then read my book on the computer.
2. Choosing sushi for lunch - expensive - E18 - but delicious!
3. Taxi to the hotel was hugely expensive but we smiled at each other and said, better than 2 hours in a bus!
Splendid and dramatic lighting. I like this a lot. There is such an air of mystery and enchantment. Fav

I was out last night trying to photograph the same moon & also got a white blur...I think we might need lessons!!
Enjoy Ireland......rather an intriguing statement......dramatic.....was there a fire alarm in the night?
Hope you get chance to visit Dublin town today!

The colours are gorgeous and yes, very dramatic. What a small world we live in now. Our neighbour arrived in Ireland yesterday too as part of their European tour. They are heading to the Boyne Valley, Ireland given we live in the Boyne Valley, Queensland. Great tour you are having.

The lighting looks like I should see a leprechaun running around. Very cool shot.
September 10th, 2014
With all that greenery it has to be Ireland. The colour tones are amazing. Beautiful capture.

@taffy Thanks Taffy - If I'd seen a leprechaun I'd have invited him in!

Truly magical!! Is there a double moon?! ;-))
September 10th, 2014
@maggiemae it's a lovely part. A pity you're not seeing some of the north. I lived quite close to the Templepatrick road race area, where they race motor bikes!
