Cacti blur by maggiemae

Cacti blur

The cacti flowers were blooming by the driveway and as they were only about 3 inches high I had to get down low for this photo. I picked myself up, dusted the gravel off my clothes and tried to look normal. There was a police car parked opposite (where the party was) and I was nervous that they would think there was a body on the driveway!

Three good things;
1. Overwhelmed at the response to a leaf shot - thanks to all who commented and fav'd!
2. A visit to the library - decided I wanted a real book with a cover and proper pages instead of my computer books.
3. Concocted a recipe for a vegetable salad with sweet and sour dressing.
Oh you are funny....a body indeed, that would put the cat among the pigeons! Police visit looks promising....did you complain! You cacti shot wa worth all the lying in the drive! Harry sorted the problem out easily but as I said to the plumber after when I rang him, the hardest part was the bending down to actually do the job!

Oooh !!! Maggiemae , you make me laugh- I can visualise you prostrate on the ground and trying to take a photo -- but then you are more nimble than I am !! A lovely display of succulents however you captured the shot !

Yes your low pov certainly makes a great view of them. Had to chuckle at you, lucky you weren't all wobbly, they might have checked you out!

Great POV. The colours are lovely. Well worth a bit of gravel rash.

I love real proper books. What did you get? This is so gorgeously Christmassy!

@amandal A Marcia Willet book, "Postcards from the Past" I'm not a serious book reader and tend to avoid 'book club' books!

@happypat I don't know why the police car was there - the party faded by 10pm but had gone on for 11 hours! Perhaps someone got locked in the lavatory!

Hahaa - that would be funny - somebody else once wrote that people went over to help her when she was lying down getting a shot! Fab cacti.

Now I would have liked to have had ashot of you taking this photo! It must have amused the police. It is a good shot. I agree about the books. I need to hold them in my hand to really enjoy them.

Great shot, Maggie. Love the perspective. The bit about the cop and body in the road made me chuckle. Fav

haha...wouldn't that have been a scene? The things we do for a great photo. So...Love this pov and the colors. Cactus/cacti are so lovely in bloom.

My method has always been to just put the camera down. If I put me down, the police probably would be carting off a body as I'd not be able to get back up I'm sure! Great pov!

Gorgeous colors and shapes, Maggie!

Lovely photo. Fav.

Beautifully done, Maggiemae. Love the focus in this shot. My joke of yesterday was about Paddy, the Irishman, but I wanted to give the poor guy a rest so I made it on myself.

a sacrifice for your art.

A little effort was worth it here. Nice shot...the green and red go well perfectly.
December 9th, 2014
Love your prone body story! Great pov here (well worth the effort)!
December 10th, 2014
Love the way you focused on the more distant flowers in this.
December 10th, 2014
@tristansmum That was actually an accident - the camera decided to do this all by itself but thats why I liked it!
December 10th, 2014
I love the 'different' focus.
