Late in the evening this looming cloud pushed its way across the sky! We had had a late rain forecast so that it what it might bring. But its not the cyclone that is whirling its way down from Vanuatu at the moment. Its getting darker much earlier at night now.
Three good things:
1. A great book from the library, set in India 1950’s - another curl up on the couch.
2, A great smile from a Gardener in our Public Gardens viewing me flat on my stomach shooting autumn crocus! Autumn!!!
3. John said he liked my hair - I’ve taken to wearing it right back from my forehead instead of a fringe. I’ve never done this ever before. I like change!
This must be a very unusual sight I your late summer world! The clouds look quite angry & definite in their structure........I wonder if you are having rain at this moment!
You got on your tummy in the park....I would be ok with that but wouldn't like anyone to see me get up! You are brave showing off your forehead!
@happypat We had rain in the night which is all good. The ground is wet. I have found my face is more balanced now exposing my forehead. Perhaps my brain has shrunk and my head is smaller!
@maggiemae I think it is the time of year for clouds that boil up out of nowhere, threaten to spill over and then are gone. I love this season; its when things start to get interesting with lots of weather and autumn blaze.
Very dramatic capture!! So pleased for you that it wasn't a storm. You must show us a shot of your smaller head!! I am sure your brain hasn't shrunk!! So funny!!
Tremendous drama in this sky. The days are getting longer here, with more light in the evenings since the switch to Daylight Saving Time, although an article in today's paper says we'll probably still get more snow.
I love your photo. What amazing clouds. It is so strange to be on opposite sides of this planet, your nights getting darker and ours getting lighter. FAV
Breath taking storm clouds love them! Thanks for posting to my page. I took mine during very serious storm that had just past through that that was a near by town getting hit after it hit here. I was in the parking lot of the mall as the roads were too flooded and I had to move to higher ground so I figured while I waited there I would post here! Brilliant!! :)
@redy4et As I have noticed, Elizabeth, when you see them in the sky yourself, they appear so black but on looking at the photo - somehow they become that dark blue. What is real?

i see faces in those dark clouds, nasty looking! but the colours are nice!
change can be a good thing , hard but good
