After being allowed to get this brand new car out of our garage I had trouble turning - there are so may cameras on this car that it was showing and beeping me I was too close to - probably just a weed on the driveway that I hadn’t poisoned! I did an amazing 10 point turn and found my way up to our front door without running over any roses! Apparently in this car there is no spare tyre - if it is punctured it gives 80km worth to the nearest garage!
Well, we had to find a place to photograph it in Oamaru and what would be the best place but our Steam Punk Cafe right on the harbour. John drove on to the grass in front and as I only had my iPhone, I attempted to take a photo! After taking 2 videos, one upside down, one photo with my thumb on half the camera and 1 photo with my shadow in it, I was OK. Anyone would think I had been on the sherry!
Three good things:
1.Prince Harry is coming to visit NZ but my rhubarb scones have not made the grade!
2. A good book to read which makes me laugh.
3. A good bed - hope everyone has the bed that they love!
Great image of your lovely new car!! I am still laughing over your comments!! My new car beeped when I went out of my designated lane but I switched off this function as it was driving me mad when driving on a narrow country lane and I only had to go near the white line and I got beeped!! I am sure Prince Harry will be disappointed not to be sampling your rhubarb scones!! Fav for this great shot!!
A very uber cool spot for the auto-portrait! The beeping would drive me crazy and probably the video too. I'd end up turning it off like Pam did. I don't parallel park well with my stiffened neck, so even with cameras I'd probably pass. Actually, since I usually drive my car, if we're in a parallel parking situation, I stop the car, get out and let Jeff get in and do it while I watch from the curb! LOL Anyhooooo- It's Prince Harry's loss. I'm sure he's never had anything as delicious as your Rhubarb Scones. Good shot!
Love the futuristic look of the whole photo maggiemae. A terrific place to capture your new car. It looks a lovely model & such a classy make too. I think the beeping would drive me mad, my friend has a car that beeps everytime she goes too near the hedges. I couldn't manage without m beepers on the back though......I rely on them so much when parking.
Alex joked that she was going to Invercargil to visit her friend ........she might just have gone except she is milking her dads cows while he is over here.
I expect your rhubarb scones are very delicious....Harry will have no one to make him scones & I bet he would love one!
That is one cool and shiny car.....love your processing, and that steampunk cafe seems to be the perfect location for photographing this beauty! However, I think it is time to show this car who the boss is by turning off all its blips and beepers!! I hope it takes you to many cool places without too much whining! ;-)) And, I am definitely interested in those rhubarb scones!
Beautiful capture and Car, Our Subaru has eyesight cameras in the front and a ton of other beeping thingys side view etc...When I get in the are all disabled!!lol, but the wife loves them!! The processing here makes that car truly Platinum!!!
Wow stunning Car Maggie. Our hire car never stopped talking to you and it was very confusing until you'd worked out which beep meant what! Did you ever get your CD back?
Sophie looks fab tastic !!!! Is that John sitting in her? This processing does her justice and I'm sure she's very pleased with it. Phones are amazing these days and I sometimes wonder why I lug my big camera around.
i agree with pat @happypat very futuristic! it looks like the car is embossed on the screen! awesome processing and awesome car! sadie is sexy! sexy sadie! there's a song with that title i believe!
What a beautiful car. I love your photo and processing, Maggiemae. You make me laugh a lot. I love that you name things like your car and bike. My son has a new car he is leasing and has so many things it can do. So glad he is the one driving it. FAV
@jennywren Not as bad, Jen - having had experience with computers, its easier to find your way through all the options. We even have a Navman voice that has a NZ accent and knows how to pronounce our names!
Fantastic shot, Maggie. I loved the write up. It made me laugh (and doing that at the moment hurts... lol). I think people think I'm on the sherry all the time with the things I do! Lovely car, too!
