Sadie by maggiemae

Sadie

After being allowed to get this brand new car out of our garage I had trouble turning - there are so may cameras on this car that it was showing and beeping me I was too close to - probably just a weed on the driveway that I hadn’t poisoned! I did an amazing 10 point turn and found my way up to our front door without running over any roses! Apparently in this car there is no spare tyre - if it is punctured it gives 80km worth to the nearest garage!

Well, we had to find a place to photograph it in Oamaru and what would be the best place but our Steam Punk Cafe right on the harbour. John drove on to the grass in front and as I only had my iPhone, I attempted to take a photo! After taking 2 videos, one upside down, one photo with my thumb on half the camera and 1 photo with my shadow in it, I was OK. Anyone would think I had been on the sherry!

Three good things:
1.Prince Harry is coming to visit NZ but my rhubarb scones have not made the grade!
2. A good book to read which makes me laugh.
3. A good bed - hope everyone has the bed that they love!
I think you chose the perfect spot to photograph this beauty! Your chronicles of the event are hilarious too! An amazingly beautiful vehicle!

Super shot of your new car...love the color...this shot pops on black

Beautiful car. Lovely place to photograph it as well. Plus I have to say, I love the processing you used too.

Mercedez Benz? Like the car, love the shot. I always think the 'youth of today' could make a decent 'rap' from the parking sensors.
May 8th, 2015
@motherjane Not just the youth, Jane - the foreign drivers - this car keeps you in your designated lane!
May 8th, 2015
Great image of your lovely new car!! I am still laughing over your comments!! My new car beeped when I went out of my designated lane but I switched off this function as it was driving me mad when driving on a narrow country lane and I only had to go near the white line and I got beeped!! I am sure Prince Harry will be disappointed not to be sampling your rhubarb scones!! Fav for this great shot!!

The technology in these cars is amazing. Although Audi through and through x

Such a great cool edit!

A very uber cool spot for the auto-portrait! The beeping would drive me crazy and probably the video too. I'd end up turning it off like Pam did. I don't parallel park well with my stiffened neck, so even with cameras I'd probably pass. Actually, since I usually drive my car, if we're in a parallel parking situation, I stop the car, get out and let Jeff get in and do it while I watch from the curb! LOL Anyhooooo- It's Prince Harry's loss. I'm sure he's never had anything as delicious as your Rhubarb Scones. Good shot!

Wow, what a beautiful car! I loved your comments about trying to photograph it! Great shot anyway!!
May 8th, 2015
Fantastic photo, love your new car.
May 8th, 2015
@olivetreeann We haven't worked out how to get his car to park itself yet, Ann - so many knobs and controls!
May 8th, 2015
Wild and cool processing!

Love the futuristic look of the whole photo maggiemae. A terrific place to capture your new car. It looks a lovely model & such a classy make too. I think the beeping would drive me mad, my friend has a car that beeps everytime she goes too near the hedges. I couldn't manage without m beepers on the back though......I rely on them so much when parking.
Alex joked that she was going to Invercargil to visit her friend ........she might just have gone except she is milking her dads cows while he is over here.
I expect your rhubarb scones are very delicious....Harry will have no one to make him scones & I bet he would love one!
May 8th, 2015
Cool processing.
May 8th, 2015
Very atmospheric picture. Love the story that goes with it as well
May 8th, 2015
@happypat Thanks for your comments - always looked forward to! We might get sick of the beeping too.I hope Alex has some help milking all those cows?

Wow! Super shot.

That is one cool and shiny car.....love your processing, and that steampunk cafe seems to be the perfect location for photographing this beauty! However, I think it is time to show this car who the boss is by turning off all its blips and beepers!! I hope it takes you to many cool places without too much whining! ;-)) And, I am definitely interested in those rhubarb scones!

Fantastic capture, looks a great car.
May 9th, 2015
Sounds like it was a real challenge to get this photo. Hope you enjoyed a good cuppa at the cafe afterwards.
May 9th, 2015
@deliad thanks, Delia - guess we are too Scottish to have a coffee here when we don't need it! But its very good!
May 9th, 2015
I know, we went there on our holiday in Feb. Great place
May 9th, 2015
Wow stunning Car Maggie. Our hire car never stopped talking to you and it was very confusing until you'd worked out which beep meant what! Did you ever get your CD back?
May 9th, 2015
Awesome
May 9th, 2015
I love the way this looks as though the objects had been pinned up on a bulletin board.
May 9th, 2015
Lovely capture and processing!
May 9th, 2015
Great shot and processing.
May 9th, 2015
Wow for the amazing processing (and for the photo composition, of course).
May 9th, 2015
@thistle Stupid me - there was a small button just beside the cd slot - that would exit the disc! I was looking for something in the computer!
May 9th, 2015
Amazing shot!
May 9th, 2015
What a lovely new car... Your processing is great, to highlight the metallic tones here. Super job. Your choice of background gave me a smile.
May 9th, 2015
Sophie looks fab tastic !!!! Is that John sitting in her? This processing does her justice and I'm sure she's very pleased with it. Phones are amazing these days and I sometimes wonder why I lug my big camera around.
May 9th, 2015
Nice place to take a portrait of your new car.
May 10th, 2015
Hope you and the gleaming Sadie manage to get used to each other. Great processing in this capture

May 10th, 2015
@tristansmum You know that wonderful scent of a new car, Stephanie! I think I'll just go and sit in a seat there!
May 10th, 2015
Lovely shiny new car - my grandmother was known as Sadie - altho' her proper name was Primrose Elizabeth.
May 10th, 2015

Sadie is a fine looking car! Great processing and love the commentary.
May 11th, 2015
What a lovely car and great lighting.
May 11th, 2015
@summerfield The only song I know is "Sadie, the cleaning lady" - it goes round and round in one's head!
May 11th, 2015
This car looks lovely But I would be nervous driving it with all those automatic functions. I think you will get used to them with time
May 11th, 2015
What a beautiful car. I love your photo and processing, Maggiemae. You make me laugh a lot. I love that you name things like your car and bike. My son has a new car he is leasing and has so many things it can do. So glad he is the one driving it. FAV
May 12th, 2015
What a shiny Sadie. Great composition and love the background view behind. Love your story, sounds worse than getting to grips with a computer!
May 12th, 2015
@jennywren Not as bad, Jen - having had experience with computers, its easier to find your way through all the options. We even have a Navman voice that has a NZ accent and knows how to pronounce our names!
May 12th, 2015
@maggiemae It sounds amazing, technology eh.
May 12th, 2015
Bev
Fantastic shot, Maggie. I loved the write up. It made me laugh (and doing that at the moment hurts... lol). I think people think I'm on the sherry all the time with the things I do! Lovely car, too!
May 13th, 2015
Very nice looking car, and some serious rims!
May 14th, 2015
@spock I like the rims too, Mr S! Give the car a real sporty look!
