A brave poppy grew in an out-of-season timescale! If you don’t control these flowers, they will pop up everywhere at anytime.
This one has some added bokeh.
Another photo to be seen on the Black.
Three Good Things:
1. The scammers tried to getJohn to agree to forward thousands but he eventually told them where to get off!
2. Cauliflower and curry go well together.
3. I’ve got a good recipe for making fruit squares - known as ‘fly cemeteries” when we were young!
I think a poppy is always welcome to pop up anywhere, and at any time. They don't stick around long after all! This one has a particularly lovely plum colour and looks splendid amongst your bokeh backdrop.
Lovely colour on that out of season poppy. We have been 'having fun' with spammers too. I'm slightly less polite than John. Aren't they a nuisance? I remember 'fly cemetries' - they were delicious.
I’ve just had a fly cemetery now, Simon & Alex bought some home with them today. Probably not what you would call a proper fly cemetery but what we call Chorley Cakes....a sort of poor mans version of yours as there aren’t as many ‘flies’ in there but I like them a bit planer. This photo looks like a summer firework! Glad yo have had a flat peach in your lifetime!
This is beautiful Maggie .. love the bokeh... Love Fly cemetries .. Mum use to make them when we were kids .. @happypat watching a cooking program the other night .. Martin ?? and he was making Chorley Cakes .. thought they look similar to Eackles cakes?? .. all yummy ..
@maggiemae heehee probably the very same words I use. Leicester is much more polite than me - in fact he encourages them to continue in the hope he is wasting their time and money!
Nice photo, super focus and bokeh. Love the color of that poppy. AND, I love all the things I learn on this site. Never heard of fly cemeteries but an intriguing name so had to Google it. Might have to try making some; they look good!
@grammyn We get one just about once a day, Katy! Today's one said she came from a professional company in London. John could hardly work out what she said because of her accent!
@julzmaioro James Martin....he is a great chef, very entertaining & popular over here. Yes Chorley cakes much thinner but we eat them with butter on. Eccles cakes are the much fatter version probably more like @maggiemae fly cemeteries.
