New Potatoes by maggiemae

New Potatoes

The steam is rising from these new potatoes, just dug from our garden! And they are just as good as you would imagine! Particularly with the mint that I've been able to grow.
Thankful for:
No news from the thrush family's escapade. Maybe bad, maybe good. I expect there are 100s of these around everywhere!
just perfect!

They look very delicious and the mint adds a lot of flavour to the dish. Nothing like fresh veggies, especially of grown at home.

Yum! I continue to be amazed at the quality of the images captured by the iPhone 11. Nicely done!

@stray_shooter You just wait until my latest, Ron - I was totally amazed!

@shutterbug49 As a potato - these variety - Jersey Benne- have to be eaten totally by themselves to appreciate the flavour!

Yum - they do look delicious. I grew an early cropping variety called 'Rocket' - I was very pleased with them, nice and waxy and they didn't fall apart when cooked. They were also good in a salad, so I think I will go for that kind again this year.

@dide We get rocket down here - always interested in opinions on potatoes. Still prefer new JB's but for the older potato - Van Rosa from Southland are the best!

I also grew some red rascals (I think that's what they were) and I wasn't that pleased with the crop at all.
January 19th, 2020
@dide Yes, we grew these too. Waste of a whole year of new potato growing!
