I don't know if there are men on the moon, but if there are they must be using the earth as their lunatic asylum. George Bernard Shaw
Well, I gave it my best shot but I thought I was crazy, standing out in the cold, adjusting camera settings in the dark, trying to figure out what the heck I was doing in an attempt to get my first shot at a full moon. This is much more difficult than it looks. I need help or I'm going to become a lunatic later tonight.
However, I must admit, there clearly is a man in the moon and he's wearing sunglasses!
You did good there Becky!! At least you know how to work the manual settings. I'm still on auto (got my Nikon for Christmas) and I'm staying there until I get some classes! Start this Tuesday. But you've mastered that part and your moon is gorgeous. Love the Shaw quote. :)
@karenann
Oh Karenann, you over-estimate my abilities. I researched other moon shots on 365 to see what settings other people used (which means I'm not thinking for myself). Then I got the manual out to figure out how to set some of the other things. I do prmarily shoot in P mode and pin-point focus ... but I changed all my normal settings so much I'll have to do a factory reset to bring back the settings I use for every day. I mess with those a little but not like I did tonight. Thank you for your kind words.

Thank you for your kind comments. This was more difficult than I thought it would be but my new lens I got for Christmas (70mm-300mm Tamron) did quite well.
Thank you.

Thank you Jane. See you tomorrow night.
Thank you Pam. See you tomorrow night.
It's a pain, but this is a really awesome shot!
Thank you both so much!
Kind comment Lukas. Maybe I will try it again next month. Hopefully I will know more by then.
Thank you all for your comments. If you have any suggestions on technique or settings, bring them on!
Dude, a FAV ... thank you! I just know I can do better once I understand what and why I'm doing what I'm doing.

Find a street person holding a fake one and you can check it off your list!
Thank you! There is so much to learn!!
