Petra was AMAZING! Built over 2000 years ago as the Nabatean capital, Petra is one of the world’s most marvelously preserved archeological sites. The imposing facades of the awe-inspiring palaces, temples and tombs made me speechless. This structure is known as the Treasury and appeared in Indiana Jones the Last Crusade.
@cortens@webfoot Yes, it is carved into the rock. The guide said that they would first carve steps all the way to the top and then carve the facades from the top down. The interior rooms are small and there are only three in the Treasury. I was in awe at every turn.
