I love the math rod colors!! I didn't have them as a kid but when I was a kindergarten TA I was always trying to filch a set out of the box for myself!
I do credit the rods (and my 2nd grade teacher) for instilling me with a deep affection for math. My son was a natural math wiz at the age of... well from birth really... and we got him some rods but they were different colors. Thought I was crazy until I saw this in my friend's stash of elementary papers. @wiesnerbeth
