Astute daughter noted that the jar-lifter is an ESSENTIAL part of the process. Yes, it would be very difficult to get the jars out of the boiling water otherwise.
@eudora@wiesnerbeth They are very good, if I must say so myself. I'm going to have to make more because other people love them too. These are sweet, crunchy bread-and-butter pickles. Grilled cheese just isn't the same without them. And there are Vidalia onions in there too. Beth, make sure you have a jar lifter! And a great big pot.
