@margonaut Interesting. The things we have here that are called tulip trees have green flowers and kind of tulip shaped leaves. Do you have those too?

Green? Not that I know of. Only these. Obviously not the botanical name, just what Southerners call them. I was gonna say "uninformed Southerners" but that's not accurate. My ex-neighbor, who knows everything botanical, calls them tulip trees. There's one in her ex-front yard.

Love these trees no matter what you call them. My mother, from New Jersey, called them magnolias and my mother-in-law, from Virginia, tulip trees.
