2_Maddy Pennock_Winter Blue Hour

Just looking at the valley and flood plain beneath our garden on a freezing night.
I like the layered effect of the background.

The muted tones makes it feel very calming. Must be a lovely place to sit when it’s a bit warmer!

Lovely image. The soft colours and frost on the ground make it feel calm but cool. A great place to sit on a warm summer evening, but left unused now that winter has arrived. The layers make it feel as though you’re observing from a distance, possibly inside, in the warm. The leaning lamp, the drooping birch, the leafless trees in the distance, and the out-of-focus foreground shrubs add a melancholic feel. If I had to be very picky, I’d suggest cloning out (or pruning out?) the out-of-focus object (leaf?) that seems to be hanging just above the table, and the yellow object on the table.

@sjoyce @twyles @jlmather thank you for your comments. It is a glorious place to sit and watch the wildlife in better weather!
