Late bloomer pushing through

The deadly cold snap of this past winter killed this purple lantana down to its roots. It took all spring before it was able to throw off any green to speak of. Then three months of three digit temps over the summer stifled any gains it might have made. Finally now with the first cooler hints of autumn, this survivor pushes up a few unexpected but welcome blooms.
A beautiful composition for this delicate flower

its a real stayer that one. Lantana has become a bit of a pest in many areas here as its so robust!

Lovely image and enjoyed the narrative. I agree with
@pusspup here though. We face fines here as we struggled eradicate it from our property. It’s lovely in the environment it belongs in though.

@kartia and @pusspup If you don't mind my asking, what part of the world are you in? Here in Texas you can buy them at the grocery store, which is where we got this one originally.

@matsaleh We’re in Australia. It’s on the noxious weed list here. In some areas it has spread through National parks and control measures cost a fortune as it’s so hardy.

@kartia oh now that's awful, but totally makes sense. Your climate is probably perfect for it. Sorry it's a problem there. Cheers.
