What they did Monday and Tuesday

My photography of late has been pretty slapdash -- this being a prime example. Apologies for that. On the left you see shots taken Monday afternoon -- the west wall of the dining room, from which they had stripped all the trim and the ugly fake wood grain paneling, and two shots of the kitchen, that they had down to the studs except the ceiling.

On the right is what it looked like yesterday afternoon, when I got off work and came back to the house and stuck my camera in through a hole that had ripped in the plastic they put up between the entryway and the dining room/living room. BIG pile of plaster, lath, and who knows what. No wall between kitchen and dining room at present.

Today (Wed) some men from the plumbing and heating contractor are digging down to sewer line out back and ripping out heat ducts from the basement. What fun!

Sadly this mess doesn't make me depressed. I say "sadly" because my get-pushed partner has charged me with portraying depression. Stay tuned (for construction and depressing stuff).
What's a 'little' mess when you will get a nice brand new kitchen out of it :)

I take it this is your house? What a mess indeed but sure it will be worth it in the end

Wow... this looks only slightly worse than when my grandchildren leave after visiting ;-). Just keep thinking of the final result!

@alicias @denidouble @sbolden Absolutely. I'm gonna keep my eyes on the prize (so to speak).

@sbolden Lol
This is so exciting - despite the ever present flavour of construction dust in the air!

@phordy Thanks. Don't hold your breath, though. It's gonna be a while.

@kittikat I presume you speak from experience? Yep, it does have that certain smell in the air.
