The dinosaurs were super excited that the 365 Toys had chosen "Scary Movie" as the theme for the week. They were disappointed that it wasn't time for Crypticon, neither in Kansas City (August), nor in Minnesota (October). So they decided to put together their own horror movie marathon. From our library of DVDs here at home they chose "Terror Beneath the Earth," "In the Mouth of Madness," Microwave Massacre" (one dinosaur chickened out as we popped the popcorn!), and a great find, "Dinosaurs vs Apes." But the main event I had to rent -- what else but "Jurassic Park"?
The two little Apatosaurus youngsters were pronounced too young for horror movies by the adults. Neanderthal Man thought it was a dumb idea, and several fell asleep or crept off to bed long before the marathon was over. But five dinosaurs watched to the very end, and were rewarded with a spine-tingling showing of "Jurassic Park" to wrap up the event.
The little buggers were strewing popcorn everywhere, whooping and hollering, and rooting of course, for the dinosaurs. While I was covering my eyes with terror, they were laughing and shouting, "Go get 'em!" That is the LAST time I ever let them watch that movie. And no, we're not renting the sequel! So glad that's over.
