I found a fairy tale book on my shelf that contained yet another illustrated telling of the Twelve Dancing Princesses story (here entitled The Dancing Shoes). I’ve been on a marathon reading of all sorts of versions of the old tale — and more elaborate stories inspired by it. This volume was my mom’s — given to her by her father when she was three years and a few months old, according to the inscription. I took it to work to scan some pages and then with me when I went to see my mom. I asked her to let me take her picture with it. I’ll use that in my final project ( a digital scrapbook of the many works I’ve read) for the fairy tale class I’m sitting in on.
