One morning is all it took — bam! When I left for work there was some snow on the ground, nothing on the sidewalk, but lightly covering the bushes and grass. It was pretty well gone when I came home at noon, and the tree was bare. The ground was completely covered with leaves, none of which had been down when I had left, and the last of which were rapidly descending as I watched. No sign of the walkway leading to the house. It was like all the leaves had suddenly made a collective decision that the time had come.
