One of three photos I'm posting for my get pushed challenge given to me by Laura @la_photographic to do a landscape, seascape, or skyscrape. I live about as far from the sea as you can get here in the U.S., but I do have a large body of water nearby and this was a perfect excuse to go out to Tuttle Creek Dam and photograph the lake created with the building of the dam in the 50's and 60's on the Big Blue river. It was a beautiful morning and I wish I hadn't had to come back into town and go to work in the afternoon. This was taken from a lookout point on the west side of the lake just above the dam, looking South. You see the dam and the Blue River continuing South after passing through the dam.
@la_photographic Here is a landscape that includes the dam and river. I think I've posted a similar shot sometime in the past. But this time I liked the silvery white look of whatever kind of grass was in the foreground. This photo doesn't do justice to the luminous quality of that grass there with the light shining on it.
Hi Mary, posted this yesterday - but in the wrong place!
Hi Mary I'm your get-pushed partner this week. For your challenge, do you fancy having a go at the Artists Challenge (tag ac-marino) after Sarah Marino - with some lovely foliage shots? Deadline is wed 11th tho, so if timescale too short for this week, maybe have a go at capturing dramatic sky shots? These could be tagged Technique-110-sky to include in the next technique challenge.
