Jimmy and the 5 SWM by mcsiegle

Jimmy and the 5 SWM

Text to come later. I’m falling asleep as I try to post the last two of the 5 Spare Wise Men tour photos. What I did manage to write somehow disappeared and I can’t start again tonight.

Jimmy is a very long time friend of mine. He's been with me since I was in kindergarten -- about 65 years ago. The kindergarten teacher had a hand puppet and I adored it and told my mom all about it -- so for Christmas I was given a puppet of my own -- Jimmy. This is not his original body. I'm not sure the vertical striped body I'm thinking of was the original one either. Mom sewed this one for him in my adulthood when the striped one was coming loose from his head. But, I digress (as usual). The other day I found that Jimmy had slipped from the top of my bedside table down between the back of it and the wall. Poor Jimmy!

In retrospect, If I had seen him before choosing to work with the Five Spare Wise Men, I might have toured Jimmy around for my get pushed challenge. But he's already seen the house and at the beginning of the week we were not going anywhere else -- quarantining until the results came in for the COVID-19 tests Frank and Dan and I had taken Monday a.m. because of some worrisome symptoms Dan had that we originally thought were just a cold. Thursday morning we finally got the results - negative for Frank and me, but positive for Dan, who now has had to quarantine in his apartment until this coming Thursday. But I digress again...

Jimmy ended up giving the 5 SWM a tour of various parts of the house. No pictures of that--I was not along for the ride. But they ended up in the kitchen, hungry and in need of a sugar fix. Well, that's what it looked like, as Jimmy had pulled various sweet treats from the pantry. (I don't think the little scamp will ever grow up.) Just here in the two pictures we have chocolate marshmallow cookies, mini chocolate chips (mini was so appropriate IMO for the mini sized Wise Men), and the Rose flavored Turkish Delight that I had Frank pick up for me last week at the Asian Market for my special treat. I don't mind sharing with the Wise Men. But since they are small I talked them down to just one piece and I ate the other.

I don't think they had ever seen such an array of food as what was to be found in our pantry. I made sure that later in the day we all had a more balanced and nutritious dinner.
That shopping spree must have been an eye opener for the 5SWM!

Beautiful shots. I like your framing.

I hope that Jimmy isn’t leading them astray.

Jimmy looks a little scary. The 5SWM seem to be taking a tour of the kitchen?

They must have needed a sugar rush to get through their tour.

@jacqbb We couldn't actually go out to the store, but I think they were boggled just by the pantry, refrigerator, and freezer.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond @sangwann Thank you. I'm really pleased you like the shots. It was a bit of trick to fit Jimmy into the shot with the Wise Men.
@wakelys He is...but after Christmas they will be back in the box and unlikely to get into too much trouble on their own.
@grammyn He led them on quite a tour -- not just of the kitchen. He may look a bit scary, but only the size difference. He's a scamp, as I said, but a sweetheart also. My best bud for many years. I felt terrible when I found that I hadn't noticed he had fallen down off the table.
@randystreat Oh, yes. You are so right. Quite a sugar rush! But it came at the end of the tour Jimmy gave them.

@tdaug80 Just realized that I never tagged you on these two photos. Sorry.

@mcsiegle oh I understand, but they looked overwhelmed by the choices in your own ‘marketplace’ Again Brilliant photo!!

@mcsiegle at least you discovered him and he was still able to lead the Wisemen on their tour.

This is great, Mary! I really enjoyed the tour but must admit that I had to go all the way back to the beginning to see what your challenge was!
I noticed that you lost your narrative a couple of times. I hate that when that happens!
365 will time out sometimes and you will lose everything.
I suggest you do your work on a word doc of some sort and then just copy and paste into your upload.
You can then just delete the contents of your word doc so you do not have a whole bunch of word docs you do not necessarily want!
